Scars “A road block to your health”

Scars “A road block to your health”

Treating scars is nothing new.  These days scar treatments are done mostly for vanities sake.  Did you know that scars that test active can have an affect on the bodies biochemistry, the structural integrity of the joints and the bodies overall ability to heal.

Scars on the body from previous surgeries and injuries can cause a “road block” like affect to the bodies energy pathways called meridians.

A system exits to assess the body for scars and other major roadblocks to ones health, including: toxicity from heavy metals, chemicals, food sensitivities and immune challenges.  This system is called “Nutrition Response Testing”.

In order to understand how scars are treated we must discuss a few areas that will help tie this topic together.

The first aspect is a part of the nervous system called the “autonomic nervous system” or “ANS”.  This aspect of the nervous system is the automatic nervous system; therefore you don’t have to think about it.

The autonomic nervous system contains two parts.  The sympathetic nervous system is known in layman’s terms as the “fight or flight” mechanism.  This is the aspect of the nervous system that gives you your “get up and go”.  It functions at higher levels during the course of your day when you are up and moving around.  This system would also kick in to over drive if a wild animal in the jungle were chasing you.

The parasympathetic nervous system is the second part of the ANS it’s also known as the “rest and digest” aspect of the nervous system.  This aspect of our nervous system allows you to wind down or digest the food you’ve eaten.

Eighty percent of the sympathetic nervous system is located within the skin.  If you were to remove all of the flesh and bones from the body and all that you left behind were the sympathetic nerves you would still have an outline of the human body that resembled yourself.  The only difference is that you would look like a body with lines going in every direction.  In other words your body is covered with so many nerves within the skin that there is no place on the body that you could stick with a pin and not feel it.

These nerves are organized into groups called meridians, much like cities and towns are grouped into counties.

Meridians come from the discipline of acupuncture.  Acupuncture has been utilized for thousands of years and has stood the test of time in its usefulness in keeping the bodies energy and thus its function in balance.

An extremely effective method for treating scars that affect the bodies neurological system is cold low-level laser therapy.

Laser therapy for scars causes many therapeutic changes to occur. Among them are an increase in the metabolism and action of the cells without the affect of tissue damage.  It also has an antibacterial effect and allows the cells within the skin, nerve and blood vessels to heal properly.  This in turn helps the nerve transmission within the sympathetic nerves, meridians and skin to broadcast their signals un-interrupted.

This uninterrupted transmission of nerve impulses then allows the bodies built in, self-regulating mechanism to heal itself to occur.  Remember this mechanism is called the autonomic nervous system or the bodies master computer.

The use of laser as a treatment modality is nothing new.  Lasers are used for everything from surgical procedures to scars on the surface of the skin.  These lasers differ in their power or strength.  A laser for surgical procedures would be classified as a hot, high-level laser. The laser used for treating scars on the surface of the skin is a cold low-level laser which functions at lower frequencies.

The overall goal of scar therapy is to find scars that are affecting the bodies built in mechanisms for healing itself.  Not all scars affect the body’s nervous system.  Some scars become active after many years and others become active almost immediately.

An active scar no matter its size can be a major obstacle in the body’s quest for healing.  By healing a scar properly it frees up the bodies built in mechanism to allow the healing process to occur.

A scar is just one of five major factors that can hinder the body’s innate abilities for healing.  In our office we utilize” Nutrition Response Testing”, a specific program for detecting scars and the other most common factors that hinder the body.   This is a system that enables us to evaluate the body’s nutritional status and whether or not there are barriers suppressing it.

If you have any questions regarding our nutrition program please feel free to contact our office for further information.

Watch for our future articles that will focus on the other most common obstacles that affect our health in today’s environment.
